This presentation will focus mostly on the various aspects of leasing, security deposits and evictions in Illinois. In the course of the presentation, Brian Krause will discuss the different rules that apply to properties in in different areas of the state, and give a brief overview of the eviction process and discuss the average amount of time evictions take in Cook and the "Collar" counties.

Brian Krause

Brian was a solo practitioner for most of his career until he joined the Castle Law team in June of 2021. He has been practicing property law for more than 10 years and has extensive experience in real estate transactions and real estate litigation. While he concentrates most of his practice on property law, Brian also handles probate and general litigation matters at Castle Law. In addition to being a diligent practitioner, Brian stresses the need for providing his investor and property management clients with education on crucial legal matters affecting their businesses. Brian is also a consultant for a commercial property management company in Illinois.

Brian got his start handling commercial evictions for a large management company in the Chicago area. Later, his practice expanded to include residential evictions. Brian continues to handle a large volume of both residential and commercial evictions.
